Pizza log

This pizza log recipe is a great family-friendly dinner. This is a fast recipe, and it's so easy your kids can help make it. It's also awesome to make ahead so you only have to bake it and eat. We usually just serve this with some fresh fruit and call it a dinner! If your kids are smaller or have smaller appetites (think 5 years old and under), one pizza log is probably enough. But if your kids or older, or you have big eaters or pizza lovers, make at least two!

  • Pre-made pizza crust (recommend the thin crust in the blue pop-tube)
  • 2 Cups (16 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1/4 lb sliced salami (recommend fresh sliced from the deli)
  • 1/4 lb pepperoni (recommend fresh sliced from the deli)
  • 1/2 lb mozzarella, provolone or Italian mixed cheese - sliced from deli or shredded
  • Non-stick spray
  • Parchment paper, parchment baking mat, or wax paper (helps with the rolling part)
  • Optional: ranch dressing or extra pizza sauce for dipping!

  1. Lay out your parchment, silicone baking mat or wax paper. Spray with non-stick spray. Unroll the pizza dough onto the parchment and gently shape (if needed) into a rectangle.
  2. Spread ½ Cup - 1 Cup of the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1” border around the edges. Layer the salami, pepperoni and cheese over the sauce.
  3. Starting with a long edge, roll the log up LOOSELY. You want to give the dough a little room to puff up. Use the parchment to help you roll it up. Make sure when you stop that you have the seam side down. Tuck the ends under the bottom. Slice a few slits in the top to vent steam.
  4. If you want to hold it to make later, roll it in the parchment paper and then roll in foil and stick in the fridge until you're ready to bake it, up to 2 days.
  5. When ready to bake, place on a baking sheet and bake at 375 for 20-25 min, until it's golden brown and puffy.
  6. Allow to rest for 5-10 min before slicing and serving with the rest of the pizza sauce and/or ranch dressing for dunking.
